Worthing Town Centre Initiative

The Worthing Town Centre Initiative is a not for profit Community Interest Company Co No. 6977508.  The company has an objective ofworthing town initiative developing an interesting and vibrant Town Centre that public want to visit and businesses thrive.  We encourage businesses to invest in the Town in which they trade to provide a safe and clean town with lot of free events and activities for the public.  All the Directors invest their town free of charge and the organisation does not make a profit but invests its funds in the Town.  The Town Crier will help to promote Worthing, provide an attraction to Worthing Charities at no charge and will also generate funds for charities from his commercial services. 

Civic / Charitable/ Community
Bob is available for events, fêtes, festivals, functions, parades and for registered charities and community groups in the Borough of Worthing *

A wakeup call for the bride and groom, a proclamation at the wedding ceremony, or an introduction for each of the wedding speeches are among the services on offer. A Town Crier in full regalia is a great addition to any wedding.

Business and Corporate
For a unique way to deliver a corporate message, launch a new product or service, or open a new premises a Town Crier can add some colour and ceremony to the proceedings.

Birthdays, Anniversaries and Christenings
Messages of congratulations and good luck can be delivered for any celebration.

Bob can come along in full Town Crier regalia to open an event, pass on best wishes, introduce guests or be a master of ceremonies and keep everything running to time.  


Bob carries out the role of Town Crier on a totally voluntary basis and receives no salary, any charges where levied are solely to cover expenses associated with role and any surplus monies received are donated to local Charity Guild Care each year

Bob is available for events, fêtes, festivals, functions and parades.  For registered charities and community groups in Worthing there is a charge of £20 (inc VAT), this covers travel expenses and administration costs.  If the event requires Town Crier services for over 2 hours then an additional charge of £40 per hour will be payable.

For events that are free for the public to attend and also raise the profile of Worthing the fee may be waived as long as free parking is provided.  

All events outside the Borough of Worthing will be chargeable

Business / Corporate
£65 for the first hour & £40 per hour thereafter
Wedding Wakeup Call £40
Proclamation / Master of Ceremonies at Reception £75 (max 2 hours)
Birthday / Anniversaries / Christenings

Reasonable travel expenses are included in the charges but if parking is not provided and is chargeable or the booking is more than 7 miles from Worthing additional travel expenses to cover these costs will be payable. These will be calculated and advised for approval before the confirmation of the booking.

* Bob will carry out some free appearances for charities in the Borough of Worthing as a way of raising funds for his chosen charity
Guildcare.  If Bob does attend at no cost he kindly requests a small donation to the charity for his time and as a guideline a £20 donation for a booking of less than 2 hours and £40 for more than 2 hours would be much appreciated.
